Recap: Carson Colts vs. Gardena Panthers
It was a good run, but The Carson Colts unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. Their tough 27-7 loss to Gardena might stick with them for a while. Having soared to a lofty 48 points in the game before, Carson couldn't push the score so high this time.
When it comes to explaining why Carson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kameryn Hurst. Despite the final result, he rushed for 128 yards on only nine carries.
Gardena was led to victory by Isaiah Kim and Myles Mason. Kim threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns, while Mason gained 140 total yards.
Carson's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Gardena, their victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Carson will take on Banning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Banning will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Carson is ranked 200th). As for Gardena, they will head out on the road to face off against Narbonne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
