Football Recap: Sleepy Hollow Skates Past Putnam Valley with Ease

Sleepy Hollow entered their tilt with Putnam Valley on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 42-10. Given the Horsemen's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Tigers are ranked 385th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Brayden Richardson, who rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Richardson was just one part of a punishing run game: Sleepy Hollow was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 236 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Sleepy Hollow's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Putnam Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
