Volleyball Game Preview: Red Mountain Mountain Lions vs. Queen Creek Bulldogs

The Red Mountain Mountain Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Queen Creek Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Red Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Perry, who was ranked first at the time (Red Mountain was ranked 22nd). The Mountain Lions lost 3-0 to the Pumas on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their meetings with the Pumas: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Queen Creek came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Gilbert 3-2.

Queen Creek wouldn't go down easily and took Gilbert into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13.

Red Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Queen Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Red Mountain took their win against Queen Creek in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountain Lions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
