Recap: Lake View Chiefs vs. Fort Stockton Panthers
This season hasn't been kind to the Lake View Chiefs, who are still winless after their 13th match. They fell 44-31 to Fort Stockton on Tuesday. Lake View has struggled against Fort Stockton recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Fort Stockton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaya Urias, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Urias hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Alondra Encinas was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Lake View bumped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.5 points per game. As for Fort Stockton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake View will challenge Andrews at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Andrews is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Fort Stockton, they will head out on the road to face off against Del Rio at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
