Basketball Recap: Opp's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Opp had lost three straight headed into Wednesday's contest, but DJ Hines didn't let it get to four. The Opp Bobcats snuck past the New Brockton Gamecocks with a 55-51 win on Wednesday thanks in part to Hines, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Martin, who posted nine points. Those nine points gave him a new career-high.

Opp's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-13. As for New Brockton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Opp has already played their next match (against Pike County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. New Brockton will take on Straughn at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Straughn will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something New Brockton surely won't give up without a fight.
