Soccer Recap: St. Martin Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Long Beach

On Tuesday, St. Martin faced Long Beach in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The St. Martin Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Long Beach Bearcats by a score of 3-2. The Yellow Jackets have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Taylor Hartzler and Cali Kirkbride scored both of St. Martin's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 34 goals.

St. Martin's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5-1. As for Long Beach, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-2-1.

St. Martin will face off against Harrison Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Long Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
