Basketball Recap: Raritan Comes Up Short

Raritan lost against Holmdel back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Raritan Rockets came up short against the Holmdel Hornets, falling 59-34. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Hornets are ranked 65th).

Raritan has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Holmdel, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raritan will take on Keansburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Raritan is facing Keansburg at the right time seeing as Keansburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Holmdel, they will face off against Rumson-Fair Haven at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Rumson-Fair Haven knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Holmdel likes a good challenge.
