Football Preview: Clinch County Panthers vs. Charlton County Indians
The Clinch County Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Charlton County Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clinch County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Clinch County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Irwin County 61-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Indians are ranked 338th).

Clinch County found their leader in sophomore Traviian Miller, who threw for 402 yards and eight TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 64 yards and one score on only six carries. Those eight passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Miller. A healthy portion of Miller's aerial production (86 yards to be exact) went to Travis Miller, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Charlton County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on September 12th. They claimed a resounding 48-20 win over Lanier County. Considering the Indians' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
The victory got Charlton County back to even at 3-3. As for Clinch County, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Clinch County strolled past Charlton County when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 51-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
