Nathan Ortiz posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because McAllen Memorial is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 9-10 otherwise.

Ortiz's strong effort led McAllen Memorial over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
