Basketball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 77-60 to the Howard Lions, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 74-55.

Howard got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh Ademiju out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. Ademiju's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Griffin Garner, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Howard, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Centennial will venture away from home to take on C. Milton Wright at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Centennial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. As for Howard, they have already played their next game, a 70-67 win against Atholton on the 20th.
