Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Regional Skates Past Newark Academy with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Joseph Regional walked away with it. They blew past the Newark Academy Minutemen 71-43 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Green Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

St. Joseph Regional had a senior duo take command as Jahmir Joseph shot 50% from the field on his way to 29 points in addition to five assists and three steals and Anthony Pacciarelli went 8-for-13 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Joseph has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tom Diomedi, who posted six points.

St. Joseph Regional's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Newark Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

St. Joseph Regional wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-49 defeat against Seton Hall Prep on the 3rd. Newark Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
