Softball Recap: Carbon's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

It was a good run, but Carbon unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beaver Beavers. The Dinos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beavers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.

Danica Adams was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kennlee Kennedy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Sienna Alderson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Even though they lost, Carbon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive contests.

Carbon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Beaver, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4.

Coming up, Carbon will challenge San Juan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carbon is facing San Juan at the right time seeing as San Juan is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Beaver, they will be taking part in a tournament against Emery at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
