Softball Recap: Page Takes a Loss

Page was the 11-7 winner over Grimsley when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Page came up short against Grimsley on Friday, falling 17-2. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Ariel McAfee made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Page and nudges their season record down to 1-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-3 Northern Guilford (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.2% over those games). As for Grimsley, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Page will take on Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Page's pitchers better be ready for this one: Southeast Guilford has averaged an impressive 12.1 runs per game this season. As for Grimsley, they will face off against Northern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northern Guilford will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Grimsley surely won't give up without a fight.
