Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brookline). Everything went their way against the Canton Bulldogs on Friday as they made off with a 12-4 win. The Warriors not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18, 2024 (when they won 14-4).
Elias Brendel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Brendel was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Felix Ham was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jimmy DePalo, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Brookline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Brookline's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs across that stretch. As for Canton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9-1.
As of now, neither Brookline nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
