Baseball Game Preview: Bel Air Highlanders vs. Del Valle Conquistadores

Bel Air hasn't had much luck against Del Valle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bel Air Highlanders will welcome the Del Valle Conquistadores at 6:30 p.m. Bel Air has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Bel Air will face Del Valle after dropping another heartbreaker against Del Valle on Tuesday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. Bel Air fell 11-7 to Del Valle.

For Del Valle's part, DIEGO VILLALOBOS made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, VILLALOBOS posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three matches. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, BRYAN GARCIA was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. FELIPE RODRIGUEZ was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Del Valle is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. Bel Air now has a losing record of 8-9-1.
