Softball Recap: DePaul College Prep Find Success

DePaul College Prep hadn't done well against De La Salle recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Rams walked away with a 4-1 win over the Meteors. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Meteors back in April, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

Lauren Steele made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Steele was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Steele wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nell Bansley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Those two runs gave Bansley a new career-high.

DePaul College Prep's record is now 7-18. As for De La Salle, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6.

Looking ahead, DePaul College Prep will be playing at home against Latin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for De La Salle, they will face off against Aurora Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Meteors 4, the Chargers 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
