Preview: Mountain View Spartans vs. Menlo-Atherton Bears
The Mountain View Spartans will be playing at home against the Menlo-Atherton Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Mountain View's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Los Gatos 55-2. Mountain View was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.
Meanwhile, Menlo-Atherton fought the good fight in their overtime match against Sacred Heart Prep on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators. Menlo-Atherton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Although Menlo-Atherton took the loss, they still got scores from Alek Marshall and Owen Van loben sels.
Mountain View now has a losing record at 3-4. Menlo-Atherton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
