Basketball Recap: Northwood Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jahari Mccoy and Landon Tinsley

Northwood lost against Lakeview back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between the Northwood Gators and the Lakeview Gators didn't end well, with the Northwood Gators falling 38-24. While losing is never fun, Northwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Lakeview is ranked 64th).

Landon Tinsley and Jahari Mccoy certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Tinsley posted 12 points and eight rebounds, while Mccoy put up nine points. Tinsley is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played.

Northwood's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Lakeview, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 30-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Northwood will square off against St. Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeview, they will challenge Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
