Basketball Recap: Marion Beats Breese Central for Their Third Straight Victory

Marion proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 48) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Breese Central Cougars 50-48. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 45-32 loss the last time these two teams met.

Marion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reece Anthony led the charge by putting up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Curry, who posted 11 points and seven boards.

The win (which was Marion's third in a row) raised their record to 14-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Breese Central, they moved to 15-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
