Basketball Game Preview: Douglas Tigers vs. Reed Raiders

The Douglas Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Reed Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Douglas is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Douglas came up short against Carson and fell 48-41. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly seven points.

Despite the loss, Douglas had strong showings from Hailee Koontz, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards, and Ashlyn Greenfield, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Koontz has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 16 times she's played. Giana Zinke was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Reed faced Spanish Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Reed came up short against Spanish Springs, falling 60-34. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Reed, their loss dropped their record down to 20-4.

Douglas came up short against Reed in their previous meeting back in January, falling 60-56. Can Douglas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
