Basketball Recap: Weeping Water Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Gus Mcgill and Nate Tejan

Weeping Water lost against Sacred Heart back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Weeping Water Indians took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sacred Heart Irish. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Weeping Water had strong showings from Nate Tejan, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards, and Gus McGill, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Tejan has posted since back in December of 2023.

Even though they lost, Weeping Water smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matchups.

Weeping Water's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Sacred Heart, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Coming up, Weeping Water will square off against Cornerstone Christian School at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Sacred Heart has already played their next game (against Lewiston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
