A feisty cat fight will be fought as Maryvale Panthers face off against Boulder Creek Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Maryvale made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mesa, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Maryvale blew past Mesa 11-5 on Monday. The Panthers' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Isabel Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Hernandez was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Marianna Jennings was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Leslie Gibbons was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Maryvale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mesa only posted an OBP of .259.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Boulder Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on Cibola with a sharp 11-3 win on Monday. Considering the Jaguars have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kinsey Wilcox looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Boulder Creek got a massive performance out of Bailey Kerr, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Bailey Chapman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Maryvale's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Boulder Creek, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Maryvale has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .557. However, it's not like Boulder Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
