If Bear River wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Truckee, they should've done a better job of containing Ivan Esparza. The Wolverines blew past the Bruins 41-20 on Friday with plenty of help from Esparza, who rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 129 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Bear River's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Billingsley, who rushed for 63 yards and a pair of scores. Sean Kinney helped out on the ground, rushing for 120 yards.

Truckee has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 33.0 points this season. As for Bear River, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Truckee has already played their next match, a 42-0 defeat against Churchill County on the 5th. As for Bear River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 30-8 victory against Union Mine on the 5th.
