Baseball Recap: West Michigan Comes Up Short

If West Michigan was riding high fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Barry County Christian on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders fell just short of Fort Wayne Crusaders by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 7-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

West Michigan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fort Wayne Crusaders, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fort Wayne Crusaders beat West Michigan by a score of 4-2 later that day.
