Basketball Game Preview: Ferndale Yellow Jackets vs. Harmony Area Owls

The Ferndale Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to take on the Harmony Area Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ferndale is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Turkeyfoot Valley Area just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by the Rams 71-34. The matchup marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Harmony Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were outmatched by West Branch and fell 78-46. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 748th, while the Warriors are ranked 237th).

Harmony Area's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Ferndale, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.

Things could have been worse for Ferndale, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-51 loss to Harmony Area in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Ferndale, Jack Bracken (who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
