Baseball Game Preview: Osceola Warriors vs. Venice Indians

The Osceola Warriors will head out to square off against the Venice Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Osceola's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Venice's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, it was close, but Osceola sidestepped IMG Academy Silver for a 3-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Brock Golden looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Vincent Ferrell and Connor Daly did most of the damage at the plate: Ferrell scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Daly got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Venice suffered their closest loss since April 12, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Jesuit by a score of 5-3. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Venice moved to 5-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.4 runs. As for Osceola, their record is now 5-2.

Osceola came up short against Venice in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, falling 6-1. Can Osceola avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
