Americas extended their road winning streak to ten games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Sydney Avila. The Trail Blazers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Abilene Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Avila, who had 18 digs and three aces. Avila is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Americas had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-9, 25-16.

Americas' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Abilene, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Americas will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Eastlake at 6:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Abilene, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lake View at 12:00 p.m.
