Football Game Preview: Garrison Bulldogs vs. Joaquin Rams

The Garrison Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Joaquin Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Garrison will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Timpson, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs strolled past the Bears with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 30-14. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Joaquin got the win against Shelbyville on Friday by a conclusive 34-10. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won three in a row.

Garrison better keep an eye on Trenton Runnels. He was instrumental in Joaquin's win, rushing for 63 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Runnels a new career-high.

Joaquin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in 14 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Garrison's record now sits at 6-3. As for Joaquin, their record is now an identical 6-3.

Everything went Garrison's way against Joaquin when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Garrison made off with a 34-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
