Soccer Game Preview: Richlands vs. Croatan

The Richlands Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Croatan Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richlands is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Richlands is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Swansboro just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Richlands couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Mia Wells, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, Croatan kept a clean sheet against White Oak on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 3-0 win. Croatan haven't had any issues with White Oak recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Croatan now has a winning record of 5-4-3. As for Richlands, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7-1.

Richlands skirted past Croatan 2-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
