Greenhills waltzed into their contest on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They skirted past the Seaholm Maples 5-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-2 on Saturday.

Talen Pilz made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since April 1st.

In other batting news, Kade Mason was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Fran Love was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Greenhills pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Seaholm, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-3.

Greenhills and Seaholm should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Gryphons will square off against Cranbrook Kingswood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (115 vs. 275). Meanwhile, Seaholm (ranked 15th) will meet Harper Woods (ranked 327th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
