Baseball Recap: Leo Buentello's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Natalia over Dilley

Natalia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Dilley Wolves, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Andrew Arizola was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Arizola wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leo Buentello, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Joe Yanes also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Natalia's record now sits at 3-12. As for Dilley, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Natalia is set to face off against their familiar foe Hondo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dilley will square off against rival Cotulla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
