Baseball Recap: Mountain Crest's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mountain Crest came out on top against Sky View on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Bobcats. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three contests in a row.

Kayden Cullimore made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double.

In other batting news, Jackson Pearce was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Mountain Crest's record now sits at 14-6. As for Sky View, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16.

Coming up, Mountain Crest is taking a road trip to take on Payson at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Sky View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
