Softball Game Preview: Eastern Comets vs. Sheridan Blackhawks

The Eastern Comets will face off against the Sheridan Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 12 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Eastern and 18 for Sheridan dating back to last season.

Eastern came up short against Clinton Prairie on Tuesday, falling 11-3.

Marly Coan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Katie Hendricks, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Sheridan lost 18-2 to Elwood on Tuesday.

Sheridan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Norah Adams, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Sheridan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Eastern took their win against Sheridan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
