Baseball Game Preview: Horizon Hawks vs. Boulder Panthers

The Horizon Hawks will head out to square off against the Boulder Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Horizon has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Horizon is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Legacy, falling 12-4.

Mason Foran made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. He also put up a run, which was his first of the season.

Riverdale Ridge typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Boulder proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ravens, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since March 26, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Maks Matheson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Boulder, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Horizon beat Boulder 6-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
