Basketball Recap: Wilcox Central Jaguars vs. Keith Bears

The Wilcox Central Jaguars came tearing into Thursday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 73-65 victory over Keith. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Kenyon Williams was a one-man wrecking crew for Wilcox Central as he scored 20 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Jamarius Packer was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Despite the loss, Keith still got an impressive performance from Tommy Tisdale III, who scored 38 points. That was a full 58.5% of Keith's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aveon Young, who scored eight points.

Wilcox Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Keith, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9.

Wilcox Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Keith won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
