Football Game Preview: Foothill Trojans vs. Mira Monte Lions + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Andrew Trevino and Nathan Gonzales are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Foothill Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mira Monte Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Foothill sitting on four straight victories and Mira Monte on five.

Foothill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Rosamond as they made off with a 34-13 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Trevino and Robert Evans. Trevino had a great game and rushed for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Meanwhile, Evans was balling out in the loss, rushing for 152 yards, while also catching one score.

Foothill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Anthony Perez, Cash McAfee, and William Martin picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mira Monte duked it out with McFarland on Friday. The Lions snuck past the Cougars with a 27-21 victory.

Mira Monte's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Foothill, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-3.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Foothill has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 239.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mira Monte struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 264 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Foothill came out on top in a nail-biter against Mira Monte when the teams last played back in October, sneaking past 36-33. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Gonzales, who rushed for 243 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.7 yards per carry.
