Lawrence County and Brooks are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Red Devils will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lawrence County is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Athens just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 12-4 to the Golden Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Red Devils have suffered since April 25, 2024.

Lawrence County got a good showing from Elijah Tuckier, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Tuckier hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February.

At the plate, Parker Frost made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Brooks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Summertown, falling 10-0.

Brooks saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Richardson, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Richardson hit this season.

Lawrence County's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Brooks, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-18.

Lawrence County beat Brooks 7-4 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
