Fairview kept a clean sheet against Fossil Ridge on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the SaberCats, sneaking past 1-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Fairview's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Fossil Ridge are ranked 66th).

Fairview's one-goal win came courtesy of Owen Gilbert, who's now up to three this season.

Fairview is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matches. As for Fossil Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

Fairview has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 win against Arvada West on the 22nd. As for Fossil Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Cherokee Trail on the 20th.
