Baseball Recap: Tarpon Springs Comes Up Short

Tarpon Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons, falling 12-4.

Andres Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Tarpon Springs now has a losing record of 10-11. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Looking ahead, Tarpon Springs will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hollins at 7:00 p.m. The Royals will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Spongers surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, they are taking a road trip to take on Clearwater Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
