Basketball Recap: Plainfield Falls Short of Westfield in the Playoffs

Plainfield and Westfield squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Plainfield had to settle for second. They took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westfield Blue Devils. The Cardinals have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Westfield, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Plainfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westfield, they will square off against Bayonne on Saturday. Bayonne knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Westfield likes a good challenge.
