Basketball Recap: Mcbee's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

McBee had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-45 W against the North Central Knights. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Leading McBee to victory were Hayden Griggs and Jailyn Melton. Griggs made all 8 shots he took racking up 18 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks, while Melton went 5-for-8 en route to 13 points and five assists. Griggs is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Mckinley Brigman was another key player, putting up six points.

McBee's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for North Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, McBee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Governor's School for Science & Math at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Central, they will be home for the holidays to greet Central at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
