Basketball Recap: Chatham Central Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chatham Central can now relate to. They took a 77-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southern Wake Academy Lions on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (61), the Bears still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Chatham Central still got an impressive performance from Reid Albright, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 22 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Albright's big performance that evening made it 24 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Luke Gaines, who shot 60% from the field en route to 15 points and three steals.

Chatham Central's defeat dropped their record down to 23-5. As for Southern Wake Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season.

Chatham Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southern Wake Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Southern Wake Academy Lions duke it out with Northampton County Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Northampton County comes in on three and Southern Wake Academy on 13.
