Ruston was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Pineville on Thursday. The Bearcats never let the Rebels get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Ruston has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Pineville, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-16.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ruston beat the Rebels by a score of 10-0 on Friday.
