Basketball Game Preview: Brownell Talbot Raiders vs. Yutan Chieftains

Brownell Talbot is 0-10 against Yutan since January of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Brownell Talbot Raiders will face off against the Yutan Chieftains at 6:00 p.m. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Abbi Gibbs and Mylee Tichota.

Brownell Talbot is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-39 heartbreaker at the hands of Mercy.

Brownell Talbot's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gibbs, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards, and Avery Nichols, who posted 12 points along with five boards and four steals. Gibbs has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 19 times she's played.

Meanwhile, Yutan strolled past Concordia with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 46-31.

Yutan's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Brownell Talbot, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Brownell Talbot took a serious blow against Yutan in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 64-25. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Brownell Talbot was down 34-13.
