Baseball Recap: Rush-Henrietta Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Rush-Henrietta and Webster Schroeder meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Royal Comets walked away with a 6-1 win over the Warriors. The Royal Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Caden Richards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. Rush-Henrietta is undefeated when Richards allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Turner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Davey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Rush-Henrietta pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Webster Schroeder, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Webster Schroeder will venture away from home to face off against Victor at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rush-Henrietta will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' match: after the Warriors face off against the Blue Devils, they'll take on Rush-Henrietta again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
