Basketball Recap: Amos Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Georgetown over Carolina Forest

Georgetown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 72-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carolina Forest Panthers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (59), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Georgetown lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Amos Jones, who posted 19 points. Jones is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. Ean Mitchell was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Nick Zincone was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points and five steals for Carolina Forest. That's the most points Zincone has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Gray, who had 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Georgetown's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Carolina Forest, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Georgetown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-47 victory against Carvers Bay on the 11th. As for Carolina Forest, they will welcome South Florence at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carolina Forest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.5 points per game this season.
