Recap: Lutheran Lions vs. Discovery Canyon Thunder
The Lutheran Lions waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They strolled past Discovery Canyon with points to spare, taking the game 48-31. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lutheran also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Lutheran was led to victory by Jayda Vigil and Berkley Schneider. Vigil scored 16 points along with five steals, while Schneider dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. Mikaela-zoe Colon was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Discovery Canyon still got an impressive performance from Natalie Neuhaus, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Addison Hulse, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Discovery Canyon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Lutheran will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lewis-Palmer at 7:00 p.m. Lutheran is coming into the contest with seven straight wins at home, so Lewis-Palmer is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Discovery Canyon will take on Cheyenne Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Discovery Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
