Softball Recap: L'Anse Takes a Loss

L'Anse extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They lost 9-0 to the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Purple Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Lake Linden-Hubbell, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Lake Linden-Hubbell's part, the team relied heavily on Payton Goldsworthy, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Ashlyn Steves was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lake Linden-Hubbell beat L'Anse by a score of 12-1 later that day.
