Softball Game Preview: Eastwood Eagles vs. Fostoria Redmen

Eastwood is a perfect 10-0 against Fostoria since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles will welcome the Redmen at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Eastwood's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Fostoria has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Eastwood fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Oak Harbor on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 4-3.

MacKenzie Hady put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Addison Bowe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Fostoria came up short against Otsego on Friday, falling 14-4.

Fostoria's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Eastwood, their loss dropped their record down to 15-2.

Fostoria's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eastwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. It's a different story for Fostoria, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Eastwood's hitters?
