Basketball Recap: Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wins Going Away Against Hartsburg-Emden

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Peoria Christian, Cuba/Spoon River Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Hartsburg-Emden Stags as the Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats made off with a 60-39 victory.

Hartsburg-Emden's loss came despite strong showings from Peyton Swinford and Cage Crumpler. Swinford posted 11 points, while Crumpler put up nine points. Clayton O'Donoghue was another key player, putting up seven points.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Hartsburg-Emden, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Biggsville West Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Hartsburg-Emden, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-54 win against Astoria/VIT on the 27th.
